House of Blues (HOB)

So Sunday was like my Friday...no work on Monday and Tuesday :) so a Melissa and Jaimee (friends from work) and I decided to go to House of Blues for a little dancing and fun. Sunday night is Industry Night and if you are over 21 and work for Disney you get in for free...if you are a girl as well you get free drinks until midnight.

Security was tighter than the airport we all got wanded as we walked into the club and they patted our backs...a little hefty I thought but as long as no one walks in with a gun I am fine with the security being that tight. Females who are 21 get a red cup when they walk in and the bar has a list of certain drinks that are free for the night...Sour Apple Martinis, Sex on the Beach, and something else that did not sound remotely good was on the list that night.

Club culture as I have noticed is quite different here. There is not the same "freak dancing" that "Uno" my favorite bar/club in Spokane has, however it was not as classy as Uno if Uno can even be considered classy...it was definitely a step up from Stockman's bar in Missoula...thank goodness.

HOB has a big stage because there are also concerts there and so the DJ is set up on the stage and on either side of him is a dancer. Now neither of the dancers were that attractive for one and they were busting some crazy moves...I actually think my mom could have been a dancer and we all know she has "rock moves". My mother would have been far more entertaining though.

Now on to the good stuff. Anyaa, I tried out your theory of if you fist pound guys if they will think of you as only a friend...several guys felt the need to introduce themselves to us and I fist pounded them. None of them asked me to dance but I think I wore my "don't want to dance with you" stamp on my forehead. Some boys missed the stamp and in their own unique ways asked me to dance. One pretended to step on my feet, apologized for stepping on my feet (even though he knew he didn't), and then said "well would you like to dance?"....No.

There were two boys that kind of "fought" over Melissa the entire evening. She danced with both of them throughout the night and by the end they were both begging her to stay when we wanted to leave and "party" with them. One looked like a bit of a thug and started trying to convince me to convince her to hang out with him. The other scampered off and bought each of us a beer even after she told him she had no interest and we were trying to leave. Such a heartbreaker.

The best of the evening came from a decent look boy. Here is the Conversation:
Boy: Do you speak English?
Me: Yes, do you?
Boy: Hello, What is your name?
Me: Kassi, What's yours?
Boy: Malek (Ma-leak)
Me: Malek, where are you from?
Boy: France, where are you from?
Me: Montana
Boy: oh, so you are American!
Me: yes...
Boy: where do you work?
Me: Animal Kingdom, you?
Boy: Port Orleans Resort.
Boy: (out of no where) Can I give you a kiss.
Me: NO.
Boy: I want to give you a REAL FRENCH KISS.
Me: NO.
Boy: Why not?
Me: NO NO NO.

He then left...thank goodness.

Needless to say it was an entertaining evening.
